Plain answers
What Team XSO is, how a campaign runs, and who the work is for.
What is Team XSO?
A permanent organization for frontier-technology prize competitions and the research those competitions require.
Is this an esports team?
No. Team XSO competes for frontier-technology prizes, not in videogames. There is no roster, no tournament, and no merchandise.
Which prize programs?
The planned landscape treats XPRIZE as the flagship external example, alongside scientific grand challenges, public innovation prizes, and open technical bounties. The ARC Prize, the Vesuvius Challenge, and NASA challenge programs are examples of that outside ecosystem. None of them is a current Team XSO project, partner, or approved entry.
How does the team operate?
Six core roles, with specialists added for a specific competition. The sequence is Discover, Evaluate, Assemble, Prototype, Test and Validate, Submit, then Document and Repeat.
What is the funding model?
A founding program of $1.5 million a year, and an expansion program of $5 million a year after a first official XPRIZE grand-prize win.
How can I discuss collaboration?
Start from the contact page. Researchers, laboratories, and founding partners each have a path into the work.
